Project Overview

Multi Store Grocery Marketplace was developed for a private UAE grocery operator that wanted to bring multiple stores into one digital buying experience. Customers could browse nearby stores, search products, build baskets and place grocery orders from their mobile devices. Store teams could manage products, pricing, availability and incoming orders through a dedicated dashboard, while delivery staff handled fulfilment through a separate interface. A central web administration layer gave the operator visibility across stores, customers, orders and delivery activity. Techanic Infotech designed the marketplace around UAE grocery behaviour, where customers often compare stores, order household essentials and expect accurate availability with dependable doorstep fulfilment.

Project Idea

The business idea was to create one grocery marketplace where customers could discover products from multiple stores without maintaining separate accounts or shopping journeys. The platform gave the operator a shared digital channel for customer ordering while allowing each participating store to manage its own catalogue and fulfilment activity.

Managing several grocery stores through disconnected systems can quickly create operational gaps. Product information may differ between locations, prices can change during the day and stock levels can move quickly. Customers also expect the basket, delivery fee and order status to remain accurate from checkout through fulfilment.

Techanic Infotech connected store catalogues, customer baskets, order processing and delivery operations through one marketplace structure. Store teams could update availability and process incoming orders, while the operator could monitor activity across the network. Shared order information also gave delivery staff the details needed to collect and complete each grocery order.

The product principle focused on choice, accuracy and control. Customers needed enough store and product information to make confident purchases, merchants needed practical tools for daily catalogue management, and the operator needed central visibility. The experience was therefore designed to keep shopping simple while making the underlying marketplace easier to manage.

Challenges

The marketplace had to serve first time grocery shoppers alongside regular customers placing larger weekly orders. Some users wanted to find a few household essentials quickly, while others needed to search across categories and compare several products before checkout. Store teams faced a different pressure during peak periods, when a high number of orders could arrive while staff were also serving customers inside the physical store.

Catalogue accuracy was a major challenge across multiple stores. Grocery products can have different prices, pack sizes and availability depending on the location, while some items may sell out shortly after an order is placed. Techanic Infotech created store specific catalogue controls while maintaining a consistent customer structure, helping reduce confusion around product information and order fulfilment.

Performance also mattered during evening shopping periods and weekend grocery surges. Larger baskets create more product searches, pricing checks and order updates at the same time. The platform needed responsive search, quick basket updates and reliable checkout behaviour while stores processed orders and delivery staff handled active fulfilment. This helped keep the customer journey stable when marketplace activity increased.

Results

Techanic Infotech delivered a connected grocery marketplace across Android, iOS and Web, bringing customers, stores and delivery operations into one platform. The release gave the operator a structured way to onboard multiple grocery businesses while maintaining a consistent shopping experience for customers.

The main operational outcome was central marketplace visibility combined with store level control. Store teams could manage their own products and incoming orders, while the operator could monitor activity across participating stores. This made it easier to identify order issues, review fulfilment activity and coordinate delivery operations from one system.

Customers gained a more convenient way to shop across multiple grocery stores without switching between separate digital services. Product search, basket management, checkout and order tracking followed a consistent structure, while store specific information helped customers understand where products were being sourced.

The client can now expand the marketplace by adding stores, categories and service areas within the existing platform. The underlying structure supports further growth in the UAE without requiring a separate product for each new store or operating location.
