Project Overview

Grocery Subscription Platform was developed for a private UAE grocery operator that wanted to move recurring household purchases into a structured subscription model. Customers could select grocery plans, manage delivery preferences, review upcoming orders and adjust quantities from their mobile accounts. Merchants could manage products, stock availability and subscription fulfilment through a dedicated dashboard, while operations teams could oversee schedules, customer accounts and delivery activity from the web interface. Techanic Infotech designed the platform around repeat household behaviour in the UAE, where customers may prefer planned weekly or monthly grocery deliveries. The result was one connected system for managing subscriptions from selection through fulfilment.

Project Idea

The business idea was to make regular grocery purchasing more predictable for households that already know what they need each week or month. Grocery Subscription Platform gave customers a way to select recurring products, define delivery preferences and manage upcoming orders without starting the same shopping journey from scratch.

Traditional grocery ordering can create repeated effort for customers and operational uncertainty for merchants. Customers may forget routine items, while merchants need better visibility into future demand to prepare stock and delivery capacity. Subscription orders also introduce timing requirements because a change in quantity or schedule can affect fulfilment planning.

Techanic Infotech connected customer subscriptions, product availability, order generation and delivery scheduling through one platform. Customers could manage upcoming orders from their account, while merchants and operations teams could see future fulfilment requirements and respond to changes before the scheduled delivery date.

The product principle focused on convenience, predictability and control. Customers needed flexibility without losing the benefit of recurring orders. Merchants needed enough visibility to prepare stock, while the operations team needed clear schedules for fulfilment. The platform therefore treated subscriptions as an ongoing service rather than a single checkout event.

Challenges

The platform had to support customers with different shopping habits. Some users wanted a fixed weekly basket, while others needed to change quantities or skip a delivery when household needs changed. The experience had to make these actions easy to understand without making subscription management feel like another complex account task.

Grocery catalogues also change frequently. Products can become unavailable, prices can change and stock levels can shift before a recurring order is generated. Techanic Infotech designed catalogue and subscription logic so the platform could identify changes before fulfilment, while giving merchants control over availability and helping operations teams review affected orders.

Demand planning became particularly important around weekends, public holidays and periods when household shopping increased. Multiple subscriptions could generate orders for the same delivery window, creating pressure on inventory and fulfilment teams. The platform was designed to keep upcoming orders visible, support schedule management and maintain responsive customer interactions while recurring orders moved towards fulfilment.

Project Features

The platform was designed around recurring grocery behaviour rather than one time shopping. Customers can manage future deliveries with flexibility, while merchants and operations teams gain better visibility into planned demand and fulfilment activity.

  • Customer Signup and Profile

Customers can create accounts, manage delivery details, save preferences and maintain household information used across recurring grocery orders.

  • Grocery Subscription Plans

Users can select available grocery plans, review included products and choose recurring delivery schedules based on their household requirements.

  • Recurring Order Management

Customers can review upcoming orders, adjust quantities, skip selected deliveries and make changes before the fulfilment process begins.

  • Delivery Schedule Control

The platform organises subscription deliveries into defined time windows so customers can manage expectations and operations teams can plan capacity.

  • Merchant Dashboard

Merchants can manage grocery catalogues, product availability, subscription demand and fulfilment information through a central dashboard.

  • Order History and Reordering

Customers can review previous subscription deliveries and use saved order information to make future grocery planning faster and more consistent.

Results

Techanic Infotech delivered Grocery Subscription Platform across Android, iOS and Web, connecting customer subscriptions, grocery catalogues, recurring orders, merchant fulfilment and operational management. The platform gave the operator a structured way to manage recurring grocery demand rather than treating every purchase as an isolated order.

The operational outcome was better visibility into upcoming fulfilment. Merchants could see planned subscription demand and manage product availability, while operations teams could review delivery schedules and changes before orders reached the final fulfilment stage. This made recurring demand easier to organise across regular delivery windows.

Customers gained a more flexible way to manage routine grocery purchases. Instead of rebuilding the same basket each week, they could maintain a subscription and adjust it when household needs changed. Clear upcoming order information also helped customers understand what was scheduled before delivery.

The client now has a foundation for expanding subscription plans, product categories and delivery coverage within the UAE without rebuilding the core platform. Future services can be introduced around household preferences, plan personalisation and more detailed demand planning as the subscription base grows.

Plus Jakarta Sans gives the grocery experience a friendly and organised visual style. Its clear shapes make product names, prices, quantities and delivery dates easy to scan across mobile screens. The typeface also works well in merchant dashboards where more information needs to fit comfortably without making the interface feel dense or difficult to navigate.
